In a call for papers in late 2018, I decided to explore a recent project in which we allocated and utilized physical space for emotional transitions within a museum exhibit. When the concept was greenlit, I had a lot of research to do. At first, I gauged the client and over all team’s view of how successful this specific part of the exhibit was and asked for specific examples. Those conversations yielded something not unsurprising, but not yet documented. The reason for success is due to true collaboration between seemingly disparate professions and abilities, and this article could help thread together and highlight areas of overlap and opportunity. The article researches a case study and reveals universally applicable steps useful to a wide range of museum professionals.
